A September 2026 prospective multicentre study followed 270 patients with ACL injury; 66% eventually underwent ACL reconstruction. Overall, 78% returned to their pre-injury sport, but return varied markedly by sport: football 60%, floorball 71%, handball 88%, and running 100%.
