The achievable result is highly dependent on preoperative planning and the choice of surgical procedure. Consideration of anatomic specifications, angulation at the MTP and intermetatarsal 1/2 (IMT), and joint status at the metatarsophalangeal and TMT joints provide the basis for this. Minor, moderate, and severe deformities can be assigned to different osteotomy heights and, within these, a surgical procedure.
